Girls Who Write is Shutting Down

I started this website as a way for girls to express their opinions through writing, and for these opinions to be heard. I was so sick of girls getting put down all of the time because feminine interests were seen as 'bad' or 'annoying' when really all they were was a little bit girly.

The difficult decision has come to shut down the website amid financial concerns. I have been financing this site out-of-pocket for the past two years, which has become unsustainable.

I'm so sorry that my mission here had to end like this, but just know I will continue working to make sure that you are heard. To make sure that you aren't immediately dismissed the minute you bring up liking sports just because you are a girl. To make sure that you aren't shamed for liking makeup or Taylor Swift, or not, if that's your jam.
